I'm not exactly great at games, but I know the difference between a game being hard and a game being unfair. They have an unlimited supply of ammo while I'm stuck with very little, and when I take their guns, they have next to no ammo. If I hide behind a wall and stay there they shoot at you non stop and NEVER stop, and when they're not shooting, they're throwing all the grenades they just pulled out of their arses. How this that fair play? I don't get it. One thing it definitely isn't is fun. I guess I'm just past it. Give me a game I can actually enjoy any day, like I was with this before it decided it demands perfection.
Now the Valkyria Chronicles demo, that I enjoyed. The controls are intuitive, it doesn't expect you to be pixel perfect, and it's fairly matched. Uncharted in comparison is like trying to play a football team with only one player.

not to be a dick but i dont really think unfair works in this situation, i mean unlimited ammo is unrealistic but its a video game. Its my understanding that its meant to be a survival kinda type game, you know where the point is to be at a disadvantage with less ammo and such, then you use cunning and strategy to find a way. I think whats wrong isnt that its poorly made and therefore unfun, i think it just doesnt fit what your looking for.GagaMan wrote:I'm not exactly great at games, but I know the difference between a game being hard and a game being unfair. try out army of 2 it puts you on the extreme firepower side :]

Maybe with the exception of R&C:ToD, I'd venture that Uncharted is probably the easiest game of all the ones I listed in my previous post - so maybe the PS3 isn't really going to be your thing...GagaMan wrote:I'm not exactly great at games, but I know the difference between a game being hard and a game being unfair.
Re: New PS3 owner, pretty dissatisfied
For the record, games I actually did enjoy on it based on demos etc:
Pure
Super Stardust HD
Valkyria Chronicles
Sega Rally
Motorstorm
Echocrome
Everything else was either like Uncharted in that I just couldn't keep up with it or just...meh, a game I've played before but prettier.
It's a nice luxury console but yeah, it's clearly not for me. The Wii has enough coming out for me to enjoy anywhoo. Sod it, it's not a big loss. At least I tried to see what the fuss is all about.

Bah, Gamestations' so called 10 day "return" policy only means you get back your money back in voucher form. I mean I could probably end up spending that in there eventually so it's not too bad but that's hardly the point.
This is going to sound really stupid after that rant but now I'm thinking I may as well keep it as I be arsed with going through the hassle of selling it again on Ebay or something. At the worst it'll just collect a bit of dust until the games I do want come along, and it may be best to sell the PS2 now before they become utterly worthless (not that I paid much for mine to start with). Uncharted pissed me off that much. XD

Eh, I was going to say you should keep it anyway since the 60gb is getting harder to find now. I have to agree tho, I don't have a PS3, but nothing on it so far entices me at all. It's like the PS3 has become the new Xbox: lots and lots of good looking shooters and nothing else. I got a 360 in a really good trade awhile ago and was surprised to find that Microsoft really turned things around. There's a lot of games that are more up my alley on the system and some really good ones I've been enjoying, like Eternal Sonata.
Not sure what all is coming out for the PS3 that you'd probably like. But for now you can always take advantage of it's PSP connectivity and play something like Patapon. After all, that game is impossible to play on the PSP (like when you're riding the bus or something) but would probably be a blast on the big screen).

I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

If nothing else, you can do what I did in GTA4. Find the fastest car and the longest pier you can, and see how far into the ocean you can launch yourself by flying through your windshield. Good times, I must admit.
Re: New PS3 owner, pretty dissatisfied
I just bought one this weekend as well, a used 40 gig great deal on it (well I've seen cheaper but still) anyway I'm loving it been playing:
Everyday shooter-awesome
motorstorm-decent
ferrari challenge-awesome if you love ferrari
gran turismo-almost worth buying ps3 for this alone
Time crisis 4-big screen light gun action! (this I am waiting for in the mail)
And my bro is begging me to get resistance now that he's tried the demo
I am a bit worried about what happens after I am done with these though...beautiful machine and I mean that literally and so quiet compared to my 360

I don't know, Resistance felt stiff to me...but I'm one of those guys that likes his shooter to say "For the PC" on the box...
