Took me a couple of attempts. All I remember was he was cheap as fuck with his attacks. The entire game didn't really strain me that much though.

I can't get very far on DMC3 though. That games is rock solid.

yeah- my roommate breezed through it years ago. I don't know what it is. Something about the way people play until that point either totally prepares them, or completely doesn't.

Spot on review. Devil May Cry was one of my favorite games of all time. Then Devil May Cry 2 came out, which... well, we all know how that turned out. I played some of DMC3, which was good but I haven't come around to buying it. I also played through the demo of DMC4 - kinda disappointing. I'm hoping Bayonetta will be as good as DMC1, considering who's in charge.

But, yeah, I've played through Devil May Cry about 3 or 4 times. Definitely a must have on the PS2, and I have no qualms with calling it the best in the series.

As far as feelings about Capcom as a whole, I dunno. I'm really ambivalent about them. They do make some great games, but they'll re-release the same stuff renamed more than Activision. I feel they have really dropped the ball this gen (SF4,RE5 & DMC4 in particular have left a bad taste in my mouth), but then again, who hasn't dropped the ball this gen? The only company that is looking good this gen is EA, which I would have never predicted I would say.
