DS Flashcarts
I believe that is correct. At least until we get a GBA emulator for the DS.nateup2 wrote:The R4 doesn't read GBA roms. I didn't think any of the DS slot ones did.

there's no point for this to come to fruition (same reason no one ever made a ps1 emu for ps2), just buy a slot 2 device. ez 3n1 is only $20 shipped.racketboy wrote:I believe that is correct. At least until we get a GBA emulator for the DS.

I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
But with most GBA carts, can't you only put on one game at a time?vlame wrote:there's no point for this to come to fruition (same reason no one ever made a ps1 emu for ps2), just buy a slot 2 device. ez 3n1 is only $20 shipped.racketboy wrote:I believe that is correct. Plus they don't even hold as much....
And they are more expensive....

There are GBA flashcarts and there are NDS slot 2 flashcarDs. The GBA flashcarts are what you are thinking of, I believe. They just use a small amount of on-board flash memory and are only used for GBA games. The NDS slot 2 flashcarDs have expandable memory and play GBA games as well as NDS games, but require some pass device for the NDS games. Also I think I remember hearing of compatability issues with some NDS games.racketboy wrote:But with most GBA carts, can't you only put on one game at a time?vlame wrote:there's no point for this to come to fruition (same reason no one ever made a ps1 emu for ps2), just buy a slot 2 device. ez 3n1 is only $20 shipped.racketboy wrote:I believe that is correct. Its been a while since I was into any of this, so somebody who is more current double check me.
if you want good gba/ds compatibility.
get a super card lite micro sd (im not sure if it comes in SDHC) and a passme (action replay/super key) or flash your dslite. easiest solution. i dont own a ez 3n1, i will want one soon tho.
now my CF ot GBA with super key is a slow speed card (yoshi's island ds, cooking mama 2 and mario kart ds don't work).

See that's the thing, compatability. The R4 with the Toshiba 2GB TF card I got, plays everything on the DS, everything that's good IMO, and everything I want to play~vlame wrote:if you want good gba/ds compatibility.

I never came across a game that it wouldn't run.
I guess if all you were concerned with was NDS and homebrew, you would want to get the R4 or Cyclo, a slot 2 device with pass if you need to play GBA roms. One of the GBA only carts would be kind of a silly purchase, I guess.
FYI... my R4 had some sort of mystery error message when booting moonshell. It never caused me any problems but was just an annoying imperfection. It may have just been that version or even that specific unit.

Thats the only downside but with a 2 gb one you can have 20 ds games and like 40 or more gba games. For me thats more than enough.
Just put them in there and run them with rudolphs 3 in 1 software and voila your done.

its on version 1.9d you put it in the folder of roms it runs like a ds roms you would be surprised of how easy is to use it.
Edit:
Sorry for the late replies is just that the forum is so active lately that its hard to keep up with the post. I remember when it was just only us 25 members. That was easy.

Many people would say the same thing about a Gameboy emulator for the GBA, but yet we have Goombavlame wrote:there's no point for this to come to fruition (same reason no one ever made a ps1 emu for ps2), just buy a slot 2 device. ez 3n1 is only $20 shipped.racketboy wrote:I believe that is correct.
