Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I place high importance on the music that I grew up on. I love the feeling of nostalgia and most of the music I play nowdays is stuff from or similar to music that I enjoyed growing up. Here are some bands that I want to point out:

Oasis
Matchbox 20
The Verve
Jamiroquai

All of these bands are still going too which is great. I think that Wonderwall by Oasis is particularly defining of my era.
yeah that was my high school era music too. But i didn't really listen to that stuff.

I was really into:
Unwound
Fugazi
Polvo
Sebadoh
Tortoise
Slint

And alot of varied 80's stuff like...
Echo and the Bunnymen
Dead Kennedys
Dead Milkmen

More indie stuff, i suppose. My brother turned me onto alot of good stuff when i was like 12 or 13. which is funny cause he listened to crap like ICP for a while. Well....he still listens to some good stuff too, but that's terrible. I try to keep him up to date. I turned him onto 31 Knots, which he really digs.

Music really defined my life and finding unique and different music was really important to me. I guess it's the same with gaming. You seek out those really cool hard to find titles and then connect with people who did the same. And seeing bands like this live made me know for sure I wanted to do music.

What? And no Butthole Surfers to round it out? ;)

I actually like the Dead Milkmen quite a lot.

Actually I'm a big fan of them too. I was riding my bike around town during summer break and I stopped at a record store and bought Independent Worm Salon, then I went a saw a matinee of Jurassic Park by myself. Thanks for the memories....haha.

I noticed you live in Waverly, and I'm from Nebraska. Norfolk, actually, it's about 2 hours straight north.

Then my first CD ever was Master of Puppets. Strange how I went forward in technology but backwards in album chronology. Both are godly albums, and I don't think it's nostalgia talking.

So if anyone wondered why I'm such a fuckup...

I would say Boston, although I never grew up in the 70s but listening to Boston just reminds me the good times I had with my dad.

I was always into Jean Michel-Jarre, in our national TV station (when we only had one channel, as well) it used to show video-clips during the some programming breaks, and that tune he dedicated to the Challenger crew passed frequently. Very nice music IMO.

His earlier works were sort of video-game music as well (in fact he is credited for Captain Blood's music).
