Yeah. Kids are gonna drive drunk, period. Might as well help them not die. It's kinda like giving out condoms at Planned Parenthood (or some schools) - minimize the damage.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Re: Uber vs Yellow Cab
Uber is a taxi company built on a model that violates basic worker rights, ignores sector regulations that other companies are obligated to follow and generally lacks the necessary measures to safely and legally operate.
I'm glad it has been shot down in Spain and I hope any other company whose model is based on "false freelancers"* is shot down too.
*Not sure what the term is called in English, basically an employee that is not registered as such, but as a "freelancer" to avoid having to pay his healthcare, holidays and so on.

In the US, taxi drivers are protected by unions, which fight on their behalf to stop things like basic hygiene requirements and that the drivers can speak basic English.

Re: Uber vs Yellow Cab
You people are insane. As someone who has taken both many times, I can tell you that Uber is drastically, drastically better.
The last time I took a cab was from the Dallas airport to a restaurant to meet a client. The licensed cab was an old dirty van with a cracked windshield and a broken AC unit, the driver wouldn't stop talking about how much better it is in the Sudan(!) than America, the ride cost $60 (excluding tip), and the driver only took cash.
I took an Uber back. The car was a very clean Mercedes sedan, the driver was courteous and capable of reading social queues, he was much happier working for himself (rather than paying a high percentage of his earnings to a taxi company), the ride cost $35 (with no tip), and it charged automatically to my account. Basically, it was drastically better in every way imaginable, and my experience with other Uber drivers has been even better.
Finally, all the drivers I spoke with her very happy not to be driving for a taxi company, which does not let them pick their own hours and takes a large cut of their income. Also, taxi cab permits are a complete joke. They are purportedly issued to ensure that taxis and drivers meet certain standards, but they are really issued to keep people from competing with the taxi companies. I am glad that Uber is destroying their monopolistic business model, and I will be glad when they are gone entirely.
EDIT: Oh yeah...I can also guarantee that the company being shut down in Dpain had less to do with protecting workers than it did with protecting existing taxi companies...

Gee! Popo, wouldn't you rather see a bunch of kids getting hurt and then see your tax dollars spent on medical bills and legal representation for DUI cases? Punitive is clearly superior to preventative. Because it also stops kids from having fun. Fucking kids!MrPopo wrote:I'm pretty sure the message is "we'd like you to not crash your car while drunk into a sorority house".CRTGAMER wrote:Gaah, I hope my tax money is not paying to give drunks a ride home!? Fuck the kids, I just don't want one of their drunk asses hitting my car.

Woah, sorry, no. Its a campus group of students who have their own organization and stuff that does it all, no taxes used. Everything is covered by the students themselves.MrPopo wrote:I'm pretty sure the message is "we'd like you to not crash your car while drunk into a sorority house".CRTGAMER wrote:Gaah, I hope my tax money is not paying to give drunks a ride home!? I mean, if you know what college I'm at you know they aren't doing anything to make the cost less for me.
