It's hard to copy Tetris without it just being Tetris. Most of what you'd consider the "Tetris clones" are contemporary puzzle games like the aforementioned Columns and the only similarity there is that the pieces fall into a well from the top and speed up over time.

Yeah if i ever truly get the windows 7 pc I was given by my grandmother up and connected again I'll stick to it for as long as possible, 8 is yuck and 10 is slightly better but nothing will ever top xp and 7

I have used Win10 and it is great. It is all the good parts of 7 and 8 combined.

Plus dx12 offers some interesting possibilities.

Yes, it was fast.

There was lots I disliked about the UI, but 8 was a well optimized OS - taking cues from Linux prob. But 10 feels like a slick, light OS like 8... only with 7's UI.

And as I mentioned, DX12 is promising some nice perks for gamers that you won't be able to get from 7. Being able to draw resources from integrated graphics alongside your GPU being one of them.

Were you part of a beta program or did you access it at some event?

The beta program isn't exactly very exclusive, just like 8's wasn't.

I'm rather excited for Windows 10. Couldn't say that about Windows for a long time. Obviously, I'll still have to use PC Decrapifier once I install it.

Microsoft getting some competition did wonders for them as a company. They were losing out not only in mobile, but people were increasingly switching to other desktop OSs. I was actually looking for a reason not to switch to other OS to get my work done -- or even play, since PC games are going cross-platform. They seem to have caught on to that.
