Thing is, the die-hards are going to watch no matter what. That's what makes 'em die-hards, right? FOX needs to build a big audience, not just people who have been waiting years for plot threads to be tied up.

Also, I think we've addressed the word "casual" on this forum before. My enjoyment of the "Monster of the Week" episodes doesn't make me any more or less casual than you. Those are just the episodes I like best. Does that make me casual? My tattered, twenty-year-old, black X-Files shirt doesn't seem to indicate that. I think the X-Files best episodes are "Monster of the Week" episodes. I'm not the only person who holds that opinion. It's a legitimate viewpoint.

I'm not mad at you though, Maru. No harm, no foul.

My apologies if you thought I meant differently, but I worded it carefully NOT to suggest that people who like the "monster of the week" episodes are casual viewers, merely that those episodes may be more accessible and thus appealing to new and casual viewers. Also the "many of the die-hards" instead of merely "the die-hards".

Given the way folks have been misreading each other lately, I'm trying to be very careful with my wordings.

I do hope this is a success, though, and not just a cheap cash-in on nostalgia.

It's all good, brother. Like I said, no harm, no foul.

Here's hoping for success.
