No Man's Sky seems the most interesting to me. I haven't been following modern game news much though. Have they said anything about how players interact with the universe?
I am sort of deliberately avoiding reading/watching more about it at this point, so I am not sure.

I don't really anticipate anything, but if Blood Bowl gets a good conversion that would be really cool. The current version is considered by money to be unplayable because the AI fudges the dice rolls and screws up the balance of the game.

I'm mainly excited for Nintendo's output. All already mentioned in this thread, but the main ones I'm psyched for are:

Legend of Zelda Wii U
Splatoon
Xenoblade X

I have some hopes for Star Fox too. But that could end up really great or really bad, who knows. Several other Wii U games tickle my fancy a little, too.

Looking to the other systems... my most hyped game right now is probably Bloodborne. Also, No Man's Sky has me intrigued, though I'm not sure I'm sold on it yet. Also looking forward to Monster Hunter 4, and Mortal Kombat X.

Overall I think this will be good year. Though I think that every year. And as far as I'm concerned, I've never been wrong. :P Between new games and old games, the issue is that there's always too much. Never too little.

Everyone that mentioned Splatoon gets a free cookie in the mail. You need to fill out a 4 page document and also send in proof of purchase and I will send your cookie in 6-8 weeks.

Putting it in spoilers so as not to upset anyone...cause, you know... the internet.
Essentially a player will be placed in the farther regions of the universe on a random planet. There you explore the planet, mine resources, document new plant and animal life and use said resources to gain money, upgrade gear and ships and further explore further into the center of the universe. There is a supposed storyline, albeit one that is not layed out before you and requires research and personal interpretation to fill in the gaps.

Not only is land combat a part of the game, but space combat seems to be a huge portion of it as well. You can take part in space battles against AI armies and be active in the ongoing struggles of the political space world.

There is a multi-player aspect, but one that is going to really disappoint a lot of people. I want to stress that the developers have stated that they really want this to be a solo experience and that, even though you may come across a player in a style akin to the game, Journey, you aren't really meant to find people. Plus, they have stated that the universe is so big that finding someone would be highly unlikely. The multi-player is more like a shared universe that gets updated with changes made by players.

When you discover a new planet, star system, wildlife etc. you are credited for said discovery. Took down a giant battleship that crashed onto a planet? Other players will see the result of that on said planet. From what I gathered you can not just message up a buddy and go tag-teaming the universe, which some may find disappointing. This of course may change, or I could be completely wrong, but I have been following this project like a hawk as it is my current obsession that keeps me distracted from wanting a Shenmue III.
I am mostly excited for No Man's Sky. Other great titles that I am thoroughly excited for are,

Splatoon (Wii U)
Legend of Zelda (Wii U)
Star Fox (Wii U)
Grand Theft Auto V (PC)
Dreamfall Chapters Episode 2 (PC)
Majora's Mask (3DS)

That is all at the moment....but of course, that will change over time!

Here is to the new year!

Disappoint? That sounds just like how I like my multiplayer.
