Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
yeah I really like the idea of playing Quake Live w/ you guys. Honestly, my favorite TR month this year was PSO since I got to play online with a bunch of guys I don't usually get to game with.
Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
I would also be interested in this Quake Live.
Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
Just be wary of the version of Quake available on Steam. The versions they offer are winquake v1.09 and glquake v1.09, but these have issues with changing certain options, such as resolution, brightness, etc., and they're not meant for a modern OS(these versions were designed for Windows 95). I spent a few hours messing around with it several months ago and eventually quit to play something else because it didn't want to work properly.

Also, Quake Live is terrible because UT is better.

Yes. UT is also better than Quake III.MrPopo wrote:Also, Quake Live is terrible because UT is better.
And I'll check out Darkplaces.
Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
Agreed that UT > Q3, but Q1 + Q2 > U1 + U2
Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
Uh, yeah. Q1, Q2, U1, UT, Q3, Q4, UT2k4, Heretic, Heretic 2, Hexen, Hexen 2, Rainbow Six > U2...> Quake Wars.dsheinem wrote:Agreed that UT > Q3, but Q1 + Q2 > U1 + U2
Re: TR 2015 Poll – Mar - FPS
Well, yeah, but the comparison being made is that Q1 + Q2 > U1. U2 is a complete non-entity.dsheinem wrote:Agreed that UT > Q3, but Q1 + Q2 > U1 + U2
It's a full drop-in replacement for the existing binaries. Drop the DLLs and exe in your Quake directory and rename darkplaces.exe to whichever Quake binary is being run by Steam (I think it's winquake by default).Darkplaces
