Wait, what? People find the most random things to get upset about.jvalentine98 wrote:Recently there's been an uproar that there are no black or brown human characters in Mario Kart 8. And really, all of Nintendo's major human characters are white, or are Italian and appear to have white skin. (Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda's a white chick...)
So is this "damn Japanese white supremacists" or what? Does it bother you that it's 2014 and we don't have a black/brown character yet?

Technically the Mushroom kingdom is locked in a civil war between the White Toadstools and the Brown Goombas. How the turtles got in the mix, now thats a different question.CavZee wrote:Wait, what? People find the most random things to get upset about.

Re: Nintendo's lack of diversity
Information is unclear on the topic, but Poison was already referred as "newhalf" in the game's design documents so it was not just a localization change.Ack wrote:The same can be said for Poison, arguably the most famous transgender character in video games. Doesn't bother me at all. I don't see any legitimate reason why it's an issue. By all means, if they come up with a cool character concept of a different skin color or whatever, then add them, but... Yeah, it just matters so darn little to me. As long as the game is good, I could care less either way.

Thats a common arguement from those with white privilege. Not saying you are one though.catnip wrote:Doesn't bother me at all. I don't see any legitimate reason why it's an issue.
