Unlike my cooking classes, the recipes are free ;)

Speaking of, it will be Turkey a la king, Golden Turkey bake, Turkey and swiss sandwiches, Rib roast and horseradish sandwiches, Rib roast philly cheesesteaks, chicken fried steak, and other left over recipes for me, for a while.

I had a philly cheesesteak the other day .... it was sooooo good. I'm sure it doesn't compare to the real thing, but I'm sure this is the best place in the NW for em.

See if you can find a deli who cuts fresh meat with a circular blade.

Paper thin chuck roast makes the best Philly cheese steak meat; marbled as much as ribeye at half the price.

That's roughly what I've been shooting for these days myself.

I would also like to start a creative writing project of some sort.

I heard a long time ago if you share something you want to do with people you are more likely to do it because you have some accountability, so here goes:
1) (in going with a post from o.pwuaioc) Serve my wife the best I can
2) be bold and make some riskier decisions because no decision is completely "safe"
3) make a career change (and find a way to make my undergrad/grad degrees work in other fields)

Yeah, I didn't get my license until I was 17 due to issues with my mom getting time off for doing the online course stuff, but I got it as quick as I could. I guess its also a little bit more needed for me to have one than some of the members here.

Resolutions? Uhhh

Maybe quit smoking?
Don't die.

I don't know of anything else I should promise, although there probably is something. Then again, I never keep resolutions when I do make them.

I don't do new years resolutions but here's a couple things I want to do this year.

Get my own dog and train the hell out of that sucker. Not sure what breed I want yet, I really want to get a shiba inu but they are kind of a pain in the ass breed but they are amazing dogs and I really want one. I used to live with one before and he was just amazing. He hated me when he met me and was afraid of me but within an hour we were buds. Asking a dog if they want to go on a walk will always get them to like you.

Continue to not drink. So easy not even worth listing. Hell it's been eight months already and I haven't wanted to drink yet.

Start my own business or go back to school for something.

Same. I didn't have a car or any familial support (no one was around to teach me how to drive). I was also in a car accident at age 15 that shook me up some. Got a license when I was 20.
I did try a couple of times. The first time, I made a legit mistake by taking a wrong turn, and the driving instructor said she had to fail me but I was fine other than that. The second time, I ended up with a guy who criticized everything I did. I heard a little while later that this guy had a reputation for failing all guys and only passing girls he thought were cute. Sickened by the thought that this greasy guy in his late 40s was using his job at the DMV to hit on 16-year-olds, I decided to hold off(that, and our DMV was legendary for being utter shit).

But that was ok, because my hometown was small, so it didn't take long to walk anywhere. Besides, in high school a couple of friends had cars and were happy to take folks around town. The same happened in college(same town), and I could drive my then girlfriend's car with a permit, which I had. I finally got my license at 23 when I moved to a different town for grad school. I didn't actually get my first car until I was 26.

Anyway, resolutions: try to become functional in a new language, start an exercise plan, read and write more.
