My own reasons are pretty long winded. Basically it all boiled down to actually having a vehicle I could actually practice with and take the test in. Ended up having to buy a car myself before I could take the test and get my license, which proved to be a bit of a pain in itself.
Same. I didn't have a car or any familial support (no one was around to teach me how to drive). I was also in a car accident at age 15 that shook me up some. Got a license when I was 20.
I did try a couple of times. The first time, I made a legit mistake by taking a wrong turn, and the driving instructor said she had to fail me but I was fine other than that. The second time, I ended up with a guy who criticized everything I did. I heard a little while later that this guy had a reputation for failing all guys and only passing girls he thought were cute. Sickened by the thought that this greasy guy in his late 40s was using his job at the DMV to hit on 16-year-olds, I decided to hold off(that, and our DMV was legendary for being utter shit).
But that was ok, because my hometown was small, so it didn't take long to walk anywhere. Besides, in high school a couple of friends had cars and were happy to take folks around town. The same happened in college(same town), and I could drive my then girlfriend's car with a permit, which I had. I finally got my license at 23 when I moved to a different town for grad school. I didn't actually get my first car until I was 26.
Anyway, resolutions: try to become functional in a new language, start an exercise plan, read and write more.
