I'll probably try the Vita version, since it has touch controls and exclusive content![]()
I think it would be better, however, if he just kept an "overrated" stencil and a can of spray paint on his person at all times. If he tatooed "overrated" on his person, people will think HE was overrated (and, as we all know, Gamerforlife is a great member).
I am picking up a PS3 soon, and this will probably be the first - and perhaps only - game that I buy new. (That said, I loved Rayman Origins, and I think it is easily the best 2D platformer since SMB3.)
Rayman Legends

So, basically, Murphy snaps to the next usable object and you tap a button to have him interact with it. It's not nearly as fun as guiding the AI and manuevering the stuff yourself.BogusMeatFactory wrote:I am very curious to know how they handle playing as murphy on the other systems. I will be definitely getting it for the Wii U, though, because my wife and I love to play together...plus playing as murphy is a blast for me for some reason.prfsnl_gmr wrote:

I like it!
Also, Princess Teensy FTW. I hope she makes a come back in the new game.

The challenges are a lot of fun. I'm currently ranked 57th out of 2675

Re: Rayman Legends
I played the demo yesterday and really enjoyed it. The first couple levels were kinda easy, but they were meant to be intro levels. I loved the Castle Rock level. I was expecting it to be a stone-themed level but instead I got a level going in sync with a Rock song. It was downright inspired.
I noticed the first Teensy rescue level seemed to move in sync with the music too.
The controls and movement were perfectly fluid. The graphics looked nice and differed from those of Rayman: Origins. They could've easily looked like shit, but they didn't and the look of the prequel isn't detracted in any way.

The 8-bit renditions of the music levels will leave the eyes pouring out of your skull. Finished the main game, and it's a welcome addition to standard Origins set.

Rayman Origins is pretty much perfect from design POV. One of the best 2D platformers of all time. Name me one better 2D platformer made during 2000-2013.Gamerforlife wrote:Really hope this isn't as overrated as the first game was
Super Meat Boy might be the only one that's on the same level design wise, but on the art department Origins destroys it, and has a 4 player co-op that's actually fun and works (something that very few platformers can claim to have).
So no, a brilliantly designed 2D platformer with hand drawn art can never be overrated when you look at the competition from last 2 console generations. 3D platformers that were more about shooting/stealth/other gimmicks than actual platforming (and even then the 3D platformers were on a steady decline for most the PS2 generation, and almost absent during current generation). 2D platformers: uninspired Mario games, that's about it. Donkey Kong Country Returns had one major flaw (no controller support), Sonic 4 was horrible and Sonic Generations had it's fair share of flaws too. Sonic Colors can't touch Generations nor Origins.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

LOL. Maybe I do use that word a bit too much, though this and the tattoo idea do sound kind of fun. Imagine me walking into a game store and stamping random games LOLStark wrote: Ok let's settle on large stamp and ink pad a la Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that he can stamp on offending games. **CA-CHUNK** OVERRATED
Different strokes for different folks. These are all games I enjoyed more than Rayman OriginsMenegrothx wrote:Rayman Origins is pretty much perfect from design POV. Puppeteer - Which I'm getting close to finishing. I think it blows Origins right out of the water, at least as far as entertainment value it's provided me.
Sly Thieves in Time
Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit
Sonic Generations
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Journey - Yes, Journey is a platform game if you boil it down to its core mechanics
I wasn't a big fan of DKCR (though I loved DKC 1 and 2 on the SNES) and I have no interest in playing Super Meat Boy given how sadistically hard I've heard so many people say it is. I've no interest in playing something that's going to tick me off.
I would rank Rayman Origins about on par with Super Mario 3d Land. It's not that I think they are bad games. I just was not blown away by them the way a lot of other people were. Super Mario 3d Land just felt like another Mario game to me. I'm currently loving Mario & Luigi: Dream Team though, but that's another genre entirely.

Got Legends yesterday for Vita and it is amazing. All of the touch and gyroscope stuff they did with this title is really unique and awesome. Can't see getting this title for anything but WiiU or Vita, it would definitely lose something for the touch stuff to go away. I love the new barbarian princesses they are so awesome!
