St. Joseph's Day= Sitting on your Grandma's dusty couch and eating a decorated doughnut for dinner.

St. Patrick's Day = Allowed to break fast, Feasts, Corned Beef, Cabbage and Caraway, Buttered Potatoes, Soda Bread, Irish Coffee, Guinness, Green Beer, tons of friends, folk music, party games, decorations, green Carnations, Chicago's Irish Parade, toasts, pinching people who don't wear green, Irish Whiskey, talking in an Irish accent without offending anyone who is Irish, beautiful red-headed women in Celtic fringe, Irish pudding, tests of strength, an excuse to eat Lucky Charms, fist fights over football teams, watching Patriot Games, punching people who wear orange, Black and Tans during a match of darts, shamrock shakes, playing the Wild Rover, searching for four leaf clovers...and the list goes on.

Ah, Saint Patrick's Day. An excuse to drink heavily and pretend you are Irish while completely forgetting the violence which has beset the nation for a century as a direct result of colonialism, religion, and cultural identity.

No. Remembering the violence is quite a big part of it.

Next, Ack will tell us the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus do not exist.

Same here. My family were Orangemen who fled because they were on IRA hit lists. I don't celebrate this holiday.
