I agree. When I was in college, my roommates and I spent a lot of time taking turns with GTAIII.

Golf games - like Hot Shots Golf 3 - are also great "passy" games, and we had a lot of fun with that one in college too.

More recently, my wife and I have been passing the controller back and forth with both of the Pinball Hall of Fame collections for the Wii.

My game experiences are usually completely solo, but I've had a few "passy" game experiences.

I went from liking Resident Evil 4 to loving it when a friend came by and we started playing through the game together until we finished it that night. Every cool moment just seemed cooler getting to see another person besides me react to it. This was the original Gamecube version a week after its release. Yeah, that's right. OLD SCHOOL Resident Evil 4

That same friend and I took turns trying to beat the first two Dragonball Z Bukodai games as we were both DBZ fans at the time.

I visited a friend of mine after he got into a car accident and also fell ill back when I was in high school. He was a big fan of Disney's Aladdin movie. So I brought a copy of Aladdin for the SNES over and we worked through it together.

A cousin and me tried beating Rygar on the NES many years ago and pulled an all nighter. I died at the final boss. That game had no saves or passwords as I recall. Epic fail :(

Yes.

I can't believe I completely forgot about GTA III. My friends and I would spend hours competing to see who could wreak the most havoc. If you got wasted or busted, then you had to pass the controller onto the next guy. We were pretty young, and it was absolutely fascinating at the time.

All of the GTA games for me as well, starting with the original.

I'm thrilled to see that not everyone here is a control hog and that people are still passing controllers. It really makes for a fun gaming experience.

Used to be me and my bro playing SMB or DKC games, but we called it "Lives and Levels", as in you pass the controller when you lose a life or complete a level.
