As far as Sega offerings Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio and The Sonic Adventures were great. But In terms of pure Sega games I, IN MY OPINION give the edge to the Saturn. You had Nights, Burning rangers (which should have been a Dreamcast game) Shinobi X, Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2 and Saga (which costs YOUR SOUL) Both systems Got Daytona and while
the Dreamcast Daytona was a better game than either of what was on the Saturn...there's a charm to the Saturn Daytona's the Dreamcast port lacks.
In terms of Shmups they're neck in neck. Fighters SLIGHT edge to the Saturn but The Dreamcast is a Capcom fan's wet dream. If you're an SNK fan... the edge goes to the Saturn. UNLESS you have burnt Neo4all discs.
Sports games. Slight Edge to the Saturn but the Dreamcast does have some legendary sports games.
RPGs, I call a Tie as the PS1 killed both The Dreamcast and Saturn on that front.
The Action game is where I feel the Dreamcast really left something to be desired.
Bezerk may have been awesome when it came out but Then Devil May Cry had to come into existence and slaughter almost every action game of that type on the Dreamcast, which there weren't many of to begin with.
Again, this is just my personal preference They're both great systems
One thing I will say though. I don't think either systems reached their full potential.

Not trying to give you a hard time - maybe you haven't been exposed to dreamcast very long, but most of your points aren't accurate.
1.) Well, that's an opinion I guess. I don't share it.
2.) This is simply untrue. There are more US DC games than US SAT games. The number of JP exclusives is close, but if the LE's are counted (which they of course are), there are more DC imports as well. If homebrew / new developer games are counted, then the number of titles is skewed even further in the DC's favor.
3.) Again, i'm not sure what you're referring to here - can you provide numbers or explain what you're talking about? More arcade games? There are far more NAOMI carts and gd-roms than STV carts? I suppose "unique" games is subjective, but again, a reference would help.
4.) You can get a JP or Modded DC console for less than a SAT JP or Modded, in the majority of cases. The upgrade to the other region console or a mod chip is the same investment of a swap disc or import cart - I wouldn't recommend either for anyone heavily into either import library. With the games you have - for the cost of one shooter you could have a JP console for each library.
I've actually had my Dreamcasts (I have 3) longer than my Saturn.
I was 18 when I got my Dreamcast. 30 when I got my Saturn. I'm 31 now, 32 in August.
so that'll give you an idea of how long I've had.
My first Dreamcast was modded but then it broke and I haven't been able to figure out what went wrong. 2nd is a Launch Unit a former friend found in a flea market thing can't read GD Roms to save it's life, I just use it for burnt games the last one and my main Dreamcast is a Sega Sports unit.
I only have 1 model 1 US Saturn with an S-video cable and 4 in 1 cart I bought from the store here.
Yes this is just my opinion. I'm not saying I'm right or you're wrong, it's just what I think.
Alot of this goes back to when I was a teenager and seeing all the awesome shit the Saturn was getting and not being able to have one.
