My worst Nintendo decision was to buy an N64 at launch. Two games available. Yeah. Or maybe a Wii at lanch. Or a Wii U at launch. Ug. I really should wait until there are more games worth playing before I buy this stuff. Or maybe buying an s-video cable for my N64. Or modding it for RGB. Seriously, there's next to no difference between RGB and s-video on the N64 and there's very little difference between s-video and composite since the N64's graphics are so blurry/fuzzy/foggy/dull/dark/vomit-colored by default. It's like trying to polish a turd.
I thought you, of all people, would have really agreed with my very pro-Sega post. :D

I do give the edge to the NES over the SMS... I kind of do with the SNES, but in the end I find myself playing my Genesis much more than the SNES. I tend to play in short sessions, and I find the Genny library much better for that than the SNES library.

I'm glad I had good taste in SNES games as a kid. I received Final Fantasy VI (III), Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, The Lost Vikings, Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario All-Stars as Christmas/birthday gifts and I still have my original copies. I would hate to have to track down those games as an adult.

Buying my first wavebird for the gamecube.
Buying a GB micro and loving the small, portable factor.
Buying the DSi XL

It's too early but I'm hoping that my recent purchase of the 3DS XL will make the list.

Buying Paper Mario Thousand Year Door and then Paper Mario 64.

My best decisionis keeping my front loader and top loader nes and just buying onlythe games i just want to play. I also am proud of keeping my gamecube and my games that i bought for 40.00 from a guy at work. Windwaker,re4,eternal darkness, smash bros and lord of the rings. What a great buy plus 4 controllers and memory cards.
Looking how the gc games have jumped in price I'm holding on to what I got.

I have two.

1. Taking care of my NES, Genesis, Sega Master System, and N64 games as a kid. Actually I took pretty damn good care of all of my systems growing up. The only regretful decision I made was slitting the covers off of the game cases of last generation's consoles. I did it to put them into binder-style organizers. Horrible rookie mistake.

2. Getting my first job, and the sense of freedom and power I realized of hard work paying off. I bought my Gamecube with my first paycheck, along with Super Smash Brothers. I eventually bought Animal Crossing, Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda Wind Waker, at retail. Oh how life gets much more complicated, but it was fun while it lasted. :)

Keeping my Sega Genesis and not buying into all that SNES hype when I was a kid ;)

But seriously my best decisions were probably as a kid when I learned early on to save my boxes. They may not be minty but I have some nice NES, SNES and Game Boy games in box; also a SNES Mini still in box.

Came here expecting posts about the n64 having four controller ports, now I am disappoint.

My mom kept the box for my n64 without me knowing it. To my surprise, I owned the limited edition Star Wars Episode 1 Racer bundle.

I noticed quite a nice jump from composite to s-video on my N64. :(
