hi CD AGES i was hoping id hear from you , great info as usual..........according to eStarland Samurai Spirits Best Collection is III & IV.
I'll be honest. I have vague memories of playing IV on my saturn back in the day. Perhaps because I was so fixated by the fact that III was ported so damn well. Please keep in mind though that my wonderful impressions of III on the SAT was mainly due to owning and playing the PSX version beforehand. Now that is one fucked up port of an arcade fighter  Samurai showdown III on PSX is up there as my top 3 worst 2D fighting game ports to the system (CVS pro, and XvsSF are behind it!). Granted, one can excuse CVS pro due to the major hardware leap between Naomi and Playstation as well XvsSF's design prospect of having 4 characters swtiching freely onscreen when the playstation hardware already has hard time with just 2. Sam Sho III on PSX is quite frankly an embarrasment. What happened? To this day its somewhat of a mystery. I've heard the port was handled by a team internally in SCE. I remember not too long ago reading a crazy article where SNK Gamelord Chad Okada talked about the nightmare which was supervising and working alongside SCE for the game. I was stunned reading the article! I wish I knew exatly where I read that :(
