What does EDC mean?

Gotcha, sounds like a military thing.

Re: EDC, or what's in your pockets?
Since I work from home, I actually spend most of the time with nice empty pockets, but when I go out I try to keep it light since I don't like having huge lumps in my pockets.
My old Dash phone
Bifold leather wallet with real pockets, none of this plastic crapola that disintegrates. Think I've had this one at least 12 years now.
Keys: Door, parent's house, mailbox, small lock, car, remote, and an extra split ring.
Usually grab a handful of change.
I only carry my cheap Imperial knife if I think I'm going to need it.

If I take my backpack with me, that has a flash drive and cable, pens, pencil, pencil sharpener, tiny paper pad, calculator, Altoids, ear plugs, and a thin ball chain.

Why do you need access to every key at every moment. Can you not have a "my car" and a "wife car" keychain? Do you visit your parent's and in-laws' house spontaneously while they are not home? You go to your shed all the time? Can't just have the shed key inside the front/rear door? Why do you need keys for both the front and side door?Luke wrote:My Car keygtmtnbiker wrote: One thing I never understood is people carrying a ring with a bazillion keys.
Wife's car key
Key to office building
Key to my office
Key to my Parent's front door
Key to my in-laws front door
Key to my shed
Key to front and side door
Key to back door
Key to game room
All needed.
I don't even have a keychain. I have a single key: the car. Our front door and garage are both electronically locked with a code. The only other key I use, the mailbox key, is obviously not needed at all times is inside the front door.

The only reason that I can think of is because it looks cool.Zing wrote: Why do you need access to every key at every moment.

Bi fold wallet (tooled saddle style)

Hobie,
What brand wallet is that? The Coach wallet my girlfriend gave me had one of those windowed pockets for ID's, and the plastic disintegrated within a month of me using it. I've checked out Saddleback Leather's wallets, but I wouldn't have any money left to put in it.
That's an interesting looking Imperial. It resembles some of the older Bucklite models from the 80's.
Luke, that's quite a few keys you're carrying at one time. I'm just curious if you use a standard key ring, carabiner, belt hanger, etc..

i'm not that strapped like most of you here, just my phone, my paper thin magic wallet, and a messenger bag namely for my keys since I cannot (emphasis on CANNOT) stand carrying anything in my pockets (wallet included) it's a thing i have. The wife and I squabble about quite often.

Carbiner that fits in my pocket. Four rings: Home, Cars, Travel, Work. It's not like a carry a janitor's belt hanger.StuntDouble wrote: Luke, that's quite a few keys you're carrying at one time. I'm just curious if you use a standard key ring, carabiner, belt hanger, etc..
