Rhythm Heaven is another great new IP from Nintendo in the last 10 years.

What new IPs has Sony (not a Sony platform) put out?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:My point is compared to the competition (mainly talking Sony here) they don't put out nearly as much new IP as they will.
Also, Fire Emblem isn't a new IP. It's been around for quite a long while.

Don't forget Sakura Samurai, Dillon's Rolling Western, Pushmo, Nintendogs, Brain Age, that submarine game on 3DS, Metal Torrent, probably some Wiiware games, and others.k.vlaros wrote:He did start off with "In the US?"...BoringSupreez wrote:In the US? Re: why do people bash the wii so much?
I think "Company X has only released Y amount of new IPs" is a pretty pointless argument.
At the end of the day, a game company's success and longevity is dictated by the amount of product moved, period. It does matter if that product is new, old, innovative or insanely derivative.
If bringing new IP's to the market was the litmus test of a game company's health, we would all be playing on our Dreamcast 3's right now. For everything else, the supply and demand graph will be your guide.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: why do people bash the wii so much?
People bashed the Gamecube and the N64 before that. They misinterpret a game that can be enjoyed by all, as one that can only be enjoyed by children.
I watch cartoons and wrestling yet people always frown at that, as if I am not allowed to enjoy something just because children enjoy it too. Next I won't be able to enjoy confectionary or ice cream...

Re: why do people bash the wii so much?
My only problem with the Wii bashing is that people constantly complain that the Wii has no good games and then when a good game DOES come out, no one buys it
! I found
Tatsunoko vs Capcom to be way more enjoyable than MvC3 or UMvC3 plus it has Mega man AND Roll(and shes actually not bad in this game)! But people didn't buy it and bashed it only because it was not out on 360....
