Hi everyone,
I just am sick of people bashing the wii. Everone I talk to lately hate the wii and sold off their collection at some point. I can say I did not touch my wii since i got the 360 and ps3 and even though I did sell off my wii collection last year so I can fix my car, I'm telling my friends that I am going to start dipping my money into the wii again and they are all saying that the wii sucks, no good games, blah blah blah.
Now I can say that there are crappy games for the wii but so doesn't any other system past and present. But I think that besides the nintendo franchise which are great games like kirby, mario, dk returns, what about conduit 1 and 2 red steel 1 and 2, no more heroes, tatsunoko vs capcom, resident evil franchise, house of the dead, murasama etc?
Now members do any of you guys know anyone that bashes the wii? I don't care what my friends think I personally believe that this is a great time to pick up classics on the wii like murasama and both kirby's, epic mickey, tetris, etc. If anyone has an opinion please feel free to comment or give me some ideas on great wii games. Thanks
why do people bash the wii so much?

Rather than have a whole new agruement, why not just read through this 35-page debate we already had on the topic?

Sorry bruh! Wii suxxors. Titles like no more heroes, xenoblade, Kirby's epic yarn, and skyward sword make me want to die. Remember the N64 bruh! It was totally better... like more games and stuff! And super smash? Man those games went so hard!

People bash it because it's been stereotyped as being the console of choice for toddlers and MILFs, and for supposedly only having "casual games."
I think the Wii has a better overall game library than the PS3 or Xbox 360. Arc Rise Fantasia, both Zeldas, New Super Mario Bros, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Murumasa, Monster Hunter Tri, Tales of Symphonia 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Opoona are some of the best 7th gen titles. Xenoblade (haven't played it yet) and Last Story look as if they'll be phenomenal as well.

Same reason the PS3 and 360 get bashed so much: Brand loyalty. People identify with their gaming consoles and slam the competition. It's been like that since the late 80's - now we just have the internet to make it more sensational.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: why do people bash the wii so much?
I like the wii. I also like the 360 and ps3 but for me as a parent playing games like mario bros and mario party 8 or 9 and tetris delux with my wife and kids has a better value to me than seeing my wife and i watch my kids play call of duty fighting each other and having people swear on my kids because they are not as great and good as the other team members online. It doesn't mean I hate those games but for me I would rather get my but kicked by my family on wipeout the game than just watching my kids get railed by people online.

Why do you care whether or not someone else doesn't like the Wii?

While in the 90s and early 00s, brand loyalty and favoritism didn't have much of an affect on their own. However, now we have entire game networks online and the entirety of game journalism has some online presence.
Now we have sites like metacritic and kotaku. The stigma that people put out can now be reflected in what games actually get produced and bought. There are publishers who make decisions based on metacritic scores, for example, which is ridiculous.
Now more than ever, you should care about mis-information about things you like, because now more than ever, that mis-information can actually stop wheels in motion and cause shifts in industries.
Money is the biggest incentive, but if you have 20 million people whining about something ... chances are companies will bend to it. This wouldn't be an issue if what people are saying is a reasonable or accurate argument. But it's the internet ... so it usually isn't.

Exactly. If you like it, great. If you don't, move on.FiftyDollarCurse wrote:Why do you care whether or not someone else doesn't like the Wii?

ohh i know it just bothers me a little that people just dont give anything a chance and just bash because everyone else does it. My friends and other people I talk to don't own a wii or never played it or only played it for a minute or so. That's why I get a little mad. If they owned it or played it for a few month's no problem but they just agree what other people are saying that's all.gtmtnbiker wrote:Exactly. If you like it, great.
