No, I'm just commenting on some of the others' reticence. But, I understand the purity of not doing mods. That's mostly why I started purchasing JP systems.

OMG @ all you people that are saying, "I don't trust myself," and "I don't wanna chop off part of my SNES!" You phrase it like you'll be cutting off a third of the console or something. The tabs are so insignificant, it just blows my mind that some of yous are so shaky about removing them. First off, you don't ever see them, so it's not like you'll be missing them. Secondly, even for the biggest klutz, they will come off easier. They snap right off, really. You don't even need to cut with a rotary tool or something like that. I didn't. Grip the tab firmly with a needle nose pliers, then just work that thing back and forth. It doesn't take much for it to snap right off.
I'm actually 100% for breaking the tabs off in the SNES rather than the Game Genie. I was just saying how much better of a job you can remove the tabs on a GG then in the pic posted on the first page.theclaw wrote:I dunno. Doesn't seem worth ignoring Super FX and other enhancement chip support. When cutting the same tabs on SNES will provide it permanent, no cartridge to lose/damage.Ziggy587 wrote: The Game Genie comes apart easily with a standard screwdriver and about 20 seconds of your time. Opening it up gives you better access to those tabs. So even if you were hell bent on using a hack saw, you'd be able to cut the tabs out easier, more cleanly and without removing a huge chunk like that. You'd get a result more like this:
