As a result it doesn't really get used that much. It's just a spare portable pad for emergencies. I use my old trusty microsoft sidewinder 99% of the time (god I love that thing). It has the same button layout as a saturn pad but is so much more comfortable to hold.
I use an Adapter and a real Saturn pad, but I also have the (not easy to find) USB version of the old Microsoft Sidewinder. It is SO comfortable! The d-pad isn't good for precision though (part of being comfortable I think, I never found a good D-pad that didn't hurt my thumb and clearly distinguished the diagonals from the 4 main directions).

So in hard games that need the directional inputs accurately, I use the Saturn one (and bust up my thumbs).

Never heard that one before  The shoulder buttons suck

Arent there any saturn controller to USB-converters? I got one for Playstation controllers. You plug it into your PC via USB and then you plug your Playstation controller to it.
Are you thinking of the Model 1 controller?

Because if so then yes that sucks. It's the model 2 controller that gets most of the acclaim.
