Damn, you beat me to these.
Fun fact: the lead sound designer/composer for Octodad/Octodad 2 is following me on Twitter.

I'd say that's far more juvenile than weird.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Seriously though, there's a singing shit. That's pretty damned weird.

Uhh, Conkers. C'mon, there's a giant singing shit, zombies, busty sunflowers, cavepeoples, and so much more.
Seriously though, there's a singing shit. That's pretty damned awesome.

Yeah, I wasn't really trying to argue your point. You are right for the most part. I was just pointing out something about Japan, but really... it is a VERY minor thing in this thread overall.pepharytheworm wrote:No, I have played Adventure Island. But during the 80's I had no clue of his celebrity. That's my whole point, to us Adventure Island was just another platformer, but had a different meaning to a Japanese audience.
I have no idea how popular Jordan and Shaq are in japan, they were just some examples of easily recognizable american celebrities. I know Japan has product placement but it will not be the same as ours, again look at your Adventure Island reference. Think of also all the manga and anime inspired games that made it here in the 80's and early 90's but we were not exposed to the root sources, there are a lot more weird not knowing the source material. I think TMNT is considered for the most part pretty normal in the US but other countries only exposed to the games I can see them finding them pretty weird.

The groups were different but the binding of Isaac was made mostly by members of Team Meat. Including the Lead Designer.Forlorn Drifter wrote:^I thought they were developed by different groups.

OMG yes, I did play that! Ages ago. I can't even remember which version it was... either C64 or DOS. Wow. Forgot all about that one.CRTGAMER wrote:Weird Dreams
