Now hearing the news of a new DoDonPachi, I'm on the fence,
Don't jump the gun and buy a j360 yet man, the game in't coming out until spring next year, and could get localized.
I know its hard to wait and not get every Cave game you see, but it kinda sells the games short when only a small amount of good play time is put into one before you jump to another, at least thats how I see it.
And I only say this because I've done the buying every shooter thing, and at one point you realize that buying them really means nothing, because they aren't like most video games in that you can experience everything they have to offer within a few weeks, or a month even.
Plus, having played that new DDP first-hand, I can honestly say the game is fucking hard. Not DFK scoring-is-hard kinda hard, but kill you with brutal patterns that require lightning fast relexes hard. The game makes Ketsui look easy.
If you want to get really serious, lets learn DDP chaining. The original game is extremely well-balanced, and there is nothing more satisfying than an all-or-nothing scoring system (at least, when you finally succeed). I've never even looped the game before, but I sure would love to.
Sorry, I don't mean to be a negative nancy, but I always try to encourage playing shmups over collecting them. Not to say you don't play them,as everyone here knows you are quite the shmup beast already, but your skills will skyrocket if you keep pushing at the games you already know you enjoy.
