I can understand CD AGES's perspective, though, if this is a game you spent a lot of time with in the arcade then you'll definitely want the DC/early PS2 versions to match your experience. But if your time with CvS2 is limited, the Gamecube version is aesthetically close and perfectly acceptable as long as you have an appropriate controller. Some people even enjoy GCism, no biggie really, as long as it's fun for you and your friends. Maybe once CvS2 tournaments start cropping up again we can worry about balance/the best mechanics.

Yeah, I definitely see that. The Gamecube version is the one I've spent the most time with, we won it for free in a Super Monkey Ball 2 tournament at a local EBX (EB Games). Still an entertaining game even with the RC glitch removed (which in my eyes is a lame "mechanic" even if it does help unintentionally balance things) and the other slight changes.

I enjoyed all the versions thoroughly, but the DC is always closest to being arcade perfect. As far as Wii/GCN fighters go, it's defintely a must-have.

I don't really care about the roll glitch. It's going to be years until I have the skill level to worry about that. By that time I'll be an adult with the budget to buy an old game for $3.27 on eBay.
