Note that at breakfast restaurants, toast is always cut. If my memory is to be believed, they always cut it diagonally.

My favorite diner serves toasted italian bread whole. I even found a
picture of it on the web. The food looks a little greasier than it does in real life though, probably the lighting.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!

I toast my baguettes. Nothing better than crispy on the outside, chewey in the center, dripping with butter french bread. I'm talking real
french bread . The kind that takes all day to make and is good for about 4 hours tops. But during those 4 hours....

I usually go whole. If I make peanut butter toast for my wife I'll cut on the diagonal and carve her initials in the PB.
