It's my current on-the-crapper game. So far so good! It's a bit easy, but still fun.

Re: Super Mario 3d Land
so I finally got to play this on Thanksgiving. Y'know what? I still don't like the 3D on the handheld. And you need it for this game. The platforming was pretty good, but I did not enjoy the overhead sections of levels. In short -- seemed alright, but still not a title on 3DS that would make me feel like I needed one.

What? 3d isn't mandatory y'know. I have been playing it mostly in 2d and it is a terrific game even without 3d. Heck, most of my 3d games I don't move the slider up and it hasn't hindered my experience one bit imo.
I beat the first 8 worlds; you guys weren't kidding when you said the difficulty goes up

Did you try the two different 3D modes?

I thought you said you tried it. You didn't form your own opinion? 3D helps in a couple of parts, mostly bonus areas, but you don't need it.

I did try it. And I said "hey how do you shut the 3D off?" And he said "you can't on this game."

And that is what the 3d slider is for

And to quote someone from last page:
FerretGamer wrote:No, it is definitely not mandatory. I play the entire game in 2D and only turn on the 3D occasionally just to see how an area looks. Personally, I can't stand the 3D and keep it off for all of my 3DS games. I also think the games look a lot sharper in 2D mode.
