I had that happen to me on a visit to the dentist. They didn't give me a shot, they figured that gas stuff would work. I found out the hard way that that gas doesn't affect me in the slightest. The pain of the drilling was excruciating.

ahhhh, original final fantasy on NES. that was the first game i played when i was sick after i had gotten into gaming and ever since then, when i come down with a cold all your sinuses are acting up and the air just smells a certain way only when you have a cold (if that makes any sense) i have the urge to sit down and have a go with final fantasy.

Heh, woke up today with a cold. :?

Luckily I don't have a ton of school work to do so once I'm finished I'm going to become a vegetable and play Terraria.

Same. Right now actually. I have to call out from second job tonight because I am sick.

When I get home from one of those days, I either watch a string of movies, or play a random nonrpg NES game from my childhood.

Potential Movies - The Dish, Indy: Last Crusade, Office Space, Rumble in the Bronx, Commando, Death Wish 3, etc.
Potential NES - Contra, Jackal, Bionic Commando, Mario 2, Double Dragon, etc.

I often tough it out and still work, but there was a nasty flu that had me laid up for awhile where I sat and played Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for awhile. It was a good game for playing while sick because it's cheerful and doesn't require much energy since it's mostly just talking to people.

Just to hit on this, the last few times I've not been fit for work has been due to massive headaches (on top of other things). These were somewhat manageable if I was lying down, but bad if I was sitting up. I can lie on the couch and watch a movie or play a slow paced game while horizontal and sideways. This position doesn't lend itself to work.

That whole post was adorable. I was recently sick with a bad cold and mild fever and was getting all teared up over subtle moments in Shenmue. ("Stupid Hizaki! How can you be so unfeeling toward Ine-san? Can't you come home a little earlier at night?!") I completely know what you mean. :D

I love playing We Love Katamari when I'm sick. The levels are fast enough that my tea doesn't get neglected, I'm amused even when I fail, and I have a goofy grin on my face the whole time.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Minecraft :)
