Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle. I remember these games being fun, and enjoying them. But my lord are they incredibly lame. They make me feel retarded when I am playing them. And SEGA expected this to compete with Super Mario Bros.?

And that is why the execs at Sega said fuck this and went off to create SonicFiftyDollarCurse wrote:And SEGA expected this to compete with Super Mario Bros.?

Yeah, Mortal Kombat, the original, is a bit weak now. However, I still love the series and the later 16 bit iterations (and especially the new one!). Overall, I generally have the same taste in games I had as a kid (older than 8, before that I still liked kids' games like Math Blaster).flamepanther wrote:Mortal Kombat is the very first thing this topic makes me think of.

I can remember me and my younger brother spending hours, literally hours, playing every track on Jet Moto 3back in the PS1 days. I downloaded it when it was available on the PSN and played a few races. God only knows what we ever saw in this game, but I honestly don't remember the controls being that horrendous!

Re: That was LAME!
god i hate jet moto!
I used to play it and the theme music gets on my nerves:
it plays mind games in my brains!
and some how I always associated that game with adult material
i think because there was one selectable female character with
revealing cloths.

Whilst I agree Enchanted Castle is absolute garbage, Miracle World plays great and I personally like it more than Super Mario Bros.

I've played it recently myself. It was thoroughly mediocre, and I thought the physics engine was terrible. I have no idea how it ever became popular. And Bubsy 2 was even worse. Only thing I liked about Bubsy was Rob Paulsen, his voice actor.AppleQueso wrote:No way.KillerJuan77 wrote:Not even the original Bubsy was decent?AppleQueso wrote:BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY BUBSY
I remember going back to it and was rather appalled by how all around crappy the game was.
Miracle World is one of the best SMS games. It's not retarded at all.FiftyDollarCurse wrote:Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle. I'd say the lamest things I used to love were Streets of SimCity, and the various Valusoft bargain bin FPS games. Streets was one of the glitchiest games I've ever played. The AI would often just break down in the middle of a level, and it was quite possible to get stuck on terrain. The bargain bin FPS games weren't spectacularly bad, just really lame.

Re: That was LAME!
I have no idea why, but I used to play the hell out of Rise of the Robots on my SNES back in the day. Maybe it was the graphics (which still look impressive for 16-bit, admittedly), because even then I felt the game itself was half-assed. It's even blander than I remembered though.
