Dreamcast Help?
Re: Dreamcast Help?
I'm sure it's on CRTgamer's to do list if he hasn't made it already.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I found a tiny little bug hiding in my used dreamcast.

Thanks! Actually a lot of knowledge here, I learned from other members.Flake wrote:I'm sure it's on CRTgamer's to do list if he hasn't made it already.
I think maybe a combination of reasons. I also had an original pressed disc Sonic game that would not work on one of my Dreamcasts, but ran fine on another. Maybe the game disc and the Dreamcast console were both marginal? If anything the hard to read disc could be used to determine a solid used Dreamcast when buying a backup console.
The standard fixes include cleaning the disc, cleaning the lens, checking the door switch, reseating the PCB on the contacts and adjusting the potentiometer for the laser. Oh yeah this is true, also removing any insects benderx pointed out.
The pot adjustment could make a worse situation, a last resort solution. If only a game or two does not work, I would not touch that pot.

Re: Dreamcast Help?
I agree I think it would make more sense for a combination of issues than just one. The way some of the discs were made, laser death, DC models. I think a lot could be attributed to some of the disc pressings.
