I never got that one, but this makes me want to track down a copy of this game again
I've still got my copy, but it's probably beat to hell from going in and out of the PS1 so many times. I'm going to dust it off later tonight and try it out again.

I would be really curious what kind of monsters you could get from 360 games or current music cds haha. I wonder if it could find anything off the ps3 bluray discs.

(getting back on topic - not to take anything from awesome Monster Rancher discoveries!)
- MechWarrior 2 on the PC had the absolute best Soundtrack to any game of it's time!
When I discovered the soundtrack was on the game CD, it literally stayed in my CD changer for over a year..
- Symphony of the Night (PSone) has a hidden song on it.
- Some other PSone games I know of that have the soundtracks on the CD:
*Air Combat
*Battle Arena Toshinden
*Battle Arena Toshinden 2
*Darkstalkers
*Dead or Alive
*Destruction Derby
*Die Hard Trilogy
*Extreme Games
*Jumping Flash
*King of Fighters '95
*Loaded
*Mortal Kombat 3
*Ridge Racer
*Tekken
*Warhawk
if anybody else knows of any other PSone games that work, feel free to jack this list and add to it!

The US Castlevania SOTN has a hidden
music track presented by Alucard warning about playing the data tracks.
I think it's Dragon Force for Sega Saturn that has a track that said something like "this disc contains dynamic digital data that can blow out your speakers. Please remove it from your CD player ... or Kiss Your TWEETERS GOODBYE!"

Tell me about Vib Ribbon? I've heard OF IT, but don't really know the deal.
And is Dance Factory good? I thought about picking that one up.

They work! I got a Pixie from Silent Hill Homecoming and a Dino from Street Fighter IV. I thought it was pretty funny to load up my old file from when I was young and see that the names of my monsters in storage were Shaq, Mississippi, Mike Tyson, and Condom.

Dance FactoryYour own music CDs for the Dance Pad. The arrows don't follow the beat exactly but it is DDR to your personal favorite music. Some music tracks are read by Dance Factory resulting in a closer matchup of the arrows. Not perfect but great to try your own music on the PS2. Inexpensive for a used version at Gamestop right now, worth looking into.

It has strange intriguing songs in it. It would also create a level based on your music CD. Simple button mash react to screen line image.
Here is a Freeware game VIB inspired for the PC:
