Wish I had a bit that fit the S-Video connector, because I had to slowly make it wider with a drill and it was a tiny bit messy (as you can see from the pics). I would definitely use longer wire next time to organize the whole project. I would also definitely use more colors than the three I used (didn't have any other ones).
One thing I noticed was that on the Jamma Nation X tutorial and the one on Bacteria's site said to have the Negative leg on the caps pointing towards the chip. The video I followed on youtube said point the positive leg toward the chip and the negative leg to the output jack. Not sure what the difference was, but I followed the youtube one and it worked fine.
Wish I had a better camera than my phone, but I can tell you that the results are amazing!!!! I used to use RF and it was terrible.
The kit on jamma nation x seems a little spendy for what you're getting as the resistors and capacitors literally cost pennies. I found everything on digikey except the s-video jack.
The pot is a neat idea. I have noticed some slight vertical lines on one that I did on some dark backgrounds, but it wasn't enough to bother me. I guess one could adjust the pot until the lines were gone, then take a measurement with a multimeter and then just solder in place an appropriate resistor.
Kinda late.
The kit on my site is like kingbuzzo said, you are mostly paying for the jacks. The S-vid jack alone costs me $7 since it has to be made as there isn't any supplier I can find.
You could always buy the parts yourself using the cheaper s-vid jack and phonos. Save you about $10 maybe.

well, in America our TVs dont have SCART, usually we get everything but that. (RCA>SVID>COMP>HDMI)
^^ My Available List ^^ My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
s-video is a bit overrated, but many in america can't be bothered to have anything to do with SCART. It's even at times somewhat tricky to find modders here who will perform SCART or RGB related work. (heck I'm still looking for services of that sort myself)

That's why you have to buy the SCART to Component converter

Umm, no it's not. You can see the 480i Genesis in action here

It is 240p. Only a few games are 480i on Sega Genesis (sonic 2 versus mode comes to mind). Additionally, it is not always so easy converting RGB to YUV Component. Some times HDTVs will not correctly identify 240p on component inputs and give you a blank screen, or the worse flickering you have ever seen.
The problem I have with SCART from Sega Genesis is that all the standard RGB cables use composite video for sync, instead of true sync. This will show up as jail bars on certain color palettes.
Which brings me to my next point, I tried to get a cable to remedy this from electrochip and he just disappeared with my money.

The reason is that it costs a great deal more for that conversion. The s-video mod is only $15 max. People who play on standard crt's don't often have the option for component, let alone SCART.
