You know I actually think the PS2 will go next just because the sheer amount of space the generic cases and sleeves take up. At least at my local stores, the GameCube games are on a small rack and almost all of them are in their original cases while the ps2 games take up 35% of the room in the store. And I always see the GameCube games getting sold. I haven't seen too many people shuffling through those sleeves.
And the fact that over half of that shelfspace is dedicated to old sports games. However, since they're still ticking away and making some PS2 games it may stay. Who knows? The last gamestop I went to completely phased out oXbox games though. When'd that happen?

The fact that a mainstream commercial chain is no longer going to carry games for a ten year old system. Gamestop isn't a retro destination, they simply sell what brings them profit.
I can't imagine most people here would patronize Gamestop anyway.
the GS guy today told me that they won't have PS2 games this time next year. He said "PS2 is dead" and I said "uh... not to me." I mean, you can still buy brand new PS2's so...
