And the fact that over half of that shelfspace is dedicated to old sports games. However, since they're still ticking away and making some PS2 games it may stay. Who knows? The last gamestop I went to completely phased out oXbox games though. When'd that happen?Opa Opa wrote:You know I actually think the PS2 will go next just because the sheer amount of space the generic cases and sleeves take up. At least at my local stores, the GameCube games are on a small rack and almost all of them are in their original cases while the ps2 games take up 35% of the room in the store. And I always see the GameCube games getting sold. I haven't seen too many people shuffling through those sleeves.yomomma1 wrote:Gamecube will go next, because gamecube games are not as popular as ps2 games. Cheap ps2 games like sports or whatever are already being put in sleeves, so I suppose that is a sign of something.

In my area, oXbox games have been phased out for at least a year. Maybe a year and a half.

Guess in my apathy for the system I never noticed.Opa Opa wrote:In my area, oXbox games have been phased out for at least a year. Maybe a year and a half.

Why is this even news?
The fact that a mainstream commercial chain is no longer going to carry games for a ten year old system. Gamestop isn't a retro destination, they simply sell what brings them profit.
I can't imagine most people here would patronize Gamestop anyway.

Just a heads up for everyone. If you've been looking to acquire some of those obscure game boy games now is your last chance to get the games cheap.irixith wrote:Why is this even news?
Most of us shop there no matter how long the "I hate Gamestop" thread is.irixith wrote:I can't imagine most people here would patronize Gamestop anyway.

I find that really surprising (and unfortunate for those for whom it may be the only option).Opa Opa wrote:Most of us shop there no matter how long the "I hate Gamestop" thread is.

XBox original games haven't been at the gamestops in my area for a few years now, not even the Halos.Opa Opa wrote:In my area, oXbox games have been phased out for at least a year. Maybe a year and a half.
