Ra's al ghul is not immortal in the movies, therefore he's not coming back.

Nolan has said he's never doing Robin. He has also said this movie will be the final one in his trilogy, so I don't see why he'd logically introduce a character he doesn't like into a movie that he doesn't want to make a sequel to.

But yeah, Batman is not supposed to be a typical hero which is the whole point. Although frankly it seems like saving the day from a costumed villain is pretty heroic.

Is that true? Interesting. I don't know much about Jason Todd the comic book character other than that a lot of people didn't like him, but Jason Todd from the Batman:Under the Red Hood movie was a totally badass character. I actually found myself liking him a little better than Batman

I'm hoping for the Ventriloquist

As a huge comic book fan (I have a blog that is updated almost daily on comics) and Batman in particular (I used a fight between him and the Scarecrow as my entry for this week's Friday Night Fights) so I have many mixed emotions and feelings when dealing with comic book heroes in movies. I have to remember that they need to be viewed as separate entities.

Anyway, I love the Ventriloquist! He was the first main villain Batman was battling when I got back into comics in the late 80's. So I would be pumped if he was the main villain - and as silly as it sounds he would fit the mold of the Nolan Bat-verse.

Just saw under the red hood is on netflix streaming. I'll have to watch it. Hopefully it's in HD, superman doomsday is.

I'm going to go ahead and complain that netflix doesn't tell you if movies are streaming in HD on the website. It's annoying. You can only see if they're in HD when you're browsing on a netflix device (bluray, wii, roku, etc.)

I like the idea of the ventriloquist but I'm not sure I'd buy into the mob following yet another whackjob so soon after having the Joker screw them over. And from my limited knowledge of him, it seems like his main 'power' is that he controls a lot of muscle. . . otherwise he's not much of a threat.

Whatever Nolan does though, I'm sure it'll be awesome. Unless he has johnny depp play the mad hatter.

You are right about the muscle, but he is smart and is from a well off mafia family.

Origin 1: A meek, quiet man, Arnold Wesker (the first Ventriloquist) plans and executes his crimes through a dummy named Scarface, with the dress and persona of a 1920s gangster, complete with pinstripe suit, cigar, and Tommy gun. His name comes from the nickname of Al Capone, after whom Scarface is modeled.
Born into a powerful Mafia Family, Wesker developed Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly referred to as Multiple Personality Disorder) after seeing his mother murdered by an assassin from a rival Family. Growing up, his only outlet was ventriloquism.

Origin 2:After a barroom brawl in which he kills someone during a violent release of his repressed anger, Wesker is sent to Blackgate Penitentiary. He is introduced to "Woody" - a dummy carved from the former gallows by cellmate Donnegan - who convinces him to escape and kill Donnegan in a fight which scars the dummy, thus resulting in the birth of Scarface.

Yeah, you've got to see Under the Red Hood. I was very impressed by it and I think the7k was too. Honestly, it falls right in line with the recent movies in regards to its overall feel I think. It sort of takes what they did in Batman:Return of the Joker(the uncut version) to the next level.

You know, it's funny. I didn't post it, but I thought of Nolan using the ventriloquist too. It could work if done right, but yeah, whatever he does will likely be great. At least I hope so. I don't want the third movie in this trilogy to end up like Spider-Man 3 or X-Men 3. Cringe
