I hate to come across as an ass, but I think anyone that prefers the look of the US SNES is absolutely crazy. Why!?
I guess part of it is down to what you grew up with though. Being from the UK, I was brought up with the EU design (same as Super Famicon).

Guess this is why people say beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Re: SNES vs SuperFamicom
Being Irish, and a little bitch for nostalgia, I'd throw my hat into the Super Famicom/PalSNES ring. I mean, this with the Megadrive/Genesis, were my first systems and originally, when first I saw the NTSC Snes, my immediate reaction was something along the lines of: "Why is that Fisherprice toy pretending to be a SNES?". Mind, nostalgia's a fickle thing, I'm sure my hat'd be with NTSC had I been brought up in the States.
Re: SNES vs SuperFamicom
I vote for the SFC design (UK gamers are lucky to have the same design), although as big of a SFC fanboy as I am, I do not own a SFC console. I've considered buying one, although once a SNES is modded, it plays both SNES and SFC carts. the SFC console cannot fit SNES carts. As an owner of a North American SNES, there's little point in owning a SFC console. the SNES is just more practical for me.

I like em both about equally, but I don't like the concave/convex buttons. The SFC looks rad with add-ons tho. I put a non-working Satella View on mine just for kicks.

Aesthetically, I'll say the SNES. It reeks of early 1990's. As far as functionality, I'll still go for the SNES. To get it to play SFC games, all that you need to do is cut out some stupid little tabs. It's so easy.

My cousin in Japan has one of those SFC Station Racks. I'd really like to get one of those for myself someday.
