Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Oh wow I was just thinking of this happening last night. Doing online trades with people on a forum dedicated to retro gaming like this. So it's obvious that you have a nice collection if you're selling stuff. It would make you a perfect target for someone wanting games etc. That sucks man.

Indeed.

*insert poorly timed joke about running to look at the Game Rooms & Home Theater section of the forum*

Yeah no doubt. Most of those threads make me drool. But i'm not an asshole who would steal anything. I'm sure alot of people would if they knew where all that stuff was residing though.

I wonder if there is a record of that kind of thing - people stealing games from other people on a forum somewhere. Never happened here that I know, but there are lots of gaming sites across the web.

Many of us do swap addresses like whores swap germs, have collection pics, and post finds, etc. I guess the basic info is there, but I am pretty trusting. Besides, having pics in a thread of your collection will make claiming insurance much easier, so it serves a double function.

Jeffro did the person steal all your stuff or just game related things?

It depends on the insurance company. I once had my car stolen and with some personal stuff inside. I filed a home insurance claim with my company (Amica). It was just a statement listing the items and their replacement cost. I didn't have to provide any receipts or photos and was reimbursed. Nor did my insurance go up.

Having receipts will help bolster your claim but list items anyway even if you don't have a receipt or photo. As long as it passed the smell test, you might get reimbursed.

Well look at craigslist. Robberies happen all the time at meetups. I'm sure it has happened before, but wasn't looked at as such because it happened at a later time of obtaining the address etc so it just looked like a normal robbery.

That's a law unique to Nevada as a result of widespread gambling addiction. Any other pawn shop only has to hold the item until the agreed pawn period has passed - and then it's out the door as fast as possible.
Where did you hear that?

It's 30 days here in NC and was the same in NJ too.
