Re: Anime Based on Video Games
When it comes to anime based on video games, two titles spring to mind: Sonic the Hedgehog and Panzer Dragoon. The 1990s Sonic anime (released as "the movie" in the US) is pretty good if you watch it with subtitles but the dub was HORRIBLE.
And Panzer Dragoon is probably one of the worst anime I've ever seen... but I still own it because I love the games.

From what I know, the DVDs are just collected/extended versions of the Beatmania videos. I think those videos are pretty cool, but they're more of music videos than a show.General_Norris wrote:Apparently, The Epic of Zektbach, the series of Beatmania songs, got some OVAs some time ago. I wonder if they are any good, I haven't seen them.

Did I mention KOF: Another Day? It's short, but worth watching for any fan of KOF. Production I.G. animated it, after all.

the best ones i can think of are of course the first couple of seasons of Poke'mon. and the original street fighter 2 animated movie. Both of those are awesome and as an added bonus are always presented in rose colored nostalgia vision.
The most recent one I tried watching was the Devil May Cry anime, I couldn't get in to it. The character was still cool but it just felt pointless and boring to me, like nothing was really being accomplished and Dante's story didn't really advance. I stopped watching around episode 6.
