Only a couple grand on the top end? Considering that I suspect this solder problem to be a trend going forward that might not be a bad investment in the long run.
Why not use a heat gun and some no-clean flux? OR a SMD skillet/NC flux?
That's only a temporary fix. The crappy lead free solder these companies have to use now is the real problem. Only a BGA workstation can rework the BGA and re-attach with leaded solder.

anyone else's ps3 get really loud sometimes?

Post by kenshin-dono »

It did this before in the past too. I was playing GOWIII and my ps3 sudently got very loud. Sounded like a mini jet. Im not sure if its the fan kicking into overdrive, or the disk drive, or both, but something was up. I turned it off and let it sit for a bit. Has anyone else's ps3 done this to them? Its an older fat system btw

Im guessing its heat related or soemething but the sound worries me. whats the best way to dust your ps3? Im wondering if theres dust accumulated inside it. Its the older fat one

i dont want to actually open it because that will void the warranty. Will just blasting canned air in the vents work ok? Try with a vacum attachment? Im wondering what the best bet it

I just had my 360 rrod of me im going to be very pissed if my ps3 goes now too
