That is a rip off! They're obviously trying to cash in on the success of Fallout 3.

There is a commonly available pack with Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics that you can find at any sort of Best Buy or Fred Meyer type of store for $20. You can also buy this three-pack through Steam for the same price.

At www.gog.com you can buy a DRM-Free digital copy of Fallout for $5.99 and you get a bunch of bonus material like high res desktops, soundtrack, artwork, avatars, and the 205 page Fallout Bible. Same deal goes for Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics.

And if you really want the original release, sealed in a box you can buy it through Amazon for $7.99 (plus $4 for shipping).

Nickfill, I had the same issue with the Sloth dungeon. I found that there is a specific order you want to progress through the stages are in, but it's pretty good about forcing you into that order based upon what abilities you unlock. The real key is to use the alternate forms judisciously. Each one has a specific strength and by exploiting those strengths you make things much easier for yourself (I was at the same level as you for that dungeon).

If you're having problem with your party being too aggressive try playing around with their tactics. The conditionals are really robust, so you can adjust them to always attack the same things as you.

hmmm... all i can turn into is the mouse, and i have come across a 'hit this door hard' part. I was kind of scratching my head. interesting.

Yeah- i think even though I'm like 6 or 7 hours in I'm still not used to where everything is and what everything does. Menu after fucking menu. I'll try to tweak the party a bit. Can't play for a while though due to work, unfortunately. The game is pretty fun so far.

If you get stuck on one of the nodes try a different one. The ones that have extra powers have a kind of check point system. When you get the power you will open up another one of those pedastals to the Fade (there's something that requires a different power that blocks you from continuing) and when you return you'll return from the checkpoint pedastal, not the original one.

Also, keep your eyes open for mouse passages. Some of them lead to rooms that have a clickable doodad that will increase a specific attribute by 1 permanently. I think there were about 10 of them spread across the nodes.

ah- I've stuck with it a bit more. I actually was only using the quick menu for all the magic and abilities before. I started using the radial menu that pauses the action and have had WAY more luck with that. I realized that even when i was using the quick menu- i thought i was hitting the same guy over and over but i probably wasn't. Now that i'm pausing the action, picking the best spell and lining up the shot the game got playable again! :) In short, i was right, I was actually playing the game wrong.

I've picked up a slew of the +1 shots and acquired all the different forms. I've cleared 3 of the nodes and am well on may way through it. Now I'm using a lot more strategy. Stunning and trapping enemies while i deal with others or just to make them stand there while i pile on the pain. I was trying to do this before, but like i said- i was inaccurate so i might stun one guy and miss with a followup hit.

All the different forms are fucking fantastic. I hope I get to keep them outside of the fade.

Really fun game.

this is the first game in a long long time that i've played for 15-20 hours and i find that i'm still tinkering with combat and spell combos. I'm actually still discovering how to effectively play and every once and a while i'll figure out a different way the game is set up. I didn't realize the power of making your party "hold" rather than "follow" and taking one guy out to lure baddies into a better area, or at least divide them. I gotta get some trap skills and set those up to compliment the lure.

The only complaint i have for the game is pretty trival. I wish that when you made a quest active and marked, it would really mark the shit out of it like borderlands. They pinpoint it. Sometimes i just don't know where the fuck I'm supposed to go next. However- because of the misdirection, I'm finding that I am actually reading more of the quest entries and codex entries that i pick up. Which... thats cool. I've never really done that before. Always just kinda skimmed them.

I'm finding now that i have a better grasp on the game and know the strengths of the characters you pick up along the way, I have a few regrets with the way I spent some stats points. Wish i could take those back... but you win some lose some.

you guys enjoying it? I actually think modern warfare 2 might sit in the box for a bit while i try to get through this epic quest.

as i predicted- MW2 is sitting in the box still.

I'm having a problem getting past a certain part. Wondering if anyone has any tips. Don't want to spoil anything but it is after you answer a series of riddles in the gauntlet on the urn of ashes quest....

anyone breeze through it?

Ahh, I remember that puzzle. Essentially you have to do some dancing with your other three party members. To make a piece solid you need to have the section activiated on each side of the pit. So go through all the options on each side and figure out which ones will let you leap frog each section. And write it down; it took me a while because I'd keep forgetting and have my PC fall down the pit (it just resets the puzzle seamlessly).

I just finished this last night, with a total time of 40 hours. It was a blast, especially as I levelled up more and got some of the really good CC spells for my mages. The final boss fight ended pretty epically as well; all my teammates were dead and I was low on health poultrices. But I managed to whittle down the last of his health.

Ugh. The fights around that puzzle are kicking my ass. The puzzle didn't really make sence to me, but I think It is because I accidently fell into the solution? I just started putting people on switches to play with it and the whole bridge just popped up really quickly.

But yeah- I went to the alter. Accidently hit x and skipped the directions. Stripped down and talked to the alter again and got my equipment again. Didn't know what was going on. Saved because I didn't know what was goiNg to happen if I walked through the fire. Walked through the fire and had a fight on my hands I shouldn't have. Ugh.

So now I have 2 saves with 2 hard fights.

(Dragon Age) I bought it...and haven't been able to turn it off since. I have the PS3 version and people say the framerate skips sometimes, but i've never encountered that problem. I made myself a character and started 1 of the 6 origins for the game. The story is great, your characters are very customizable, theres alot of different items/weapons, tons of missions, and good battling system. Every choice you make effects the way other characters think of you and how the story will play out. I love this game and I recomend it. Its worth the $60.
