It offers a suspend feature. If you hit the home button and return to the menu it will allow you to resume to that exact point. The next time you load the game it will return to the same screen with the home menu open, allowing you to resume from where you left off or reset the game.Curlypaul wrote:So does VC offer save state functions then?

So I went and downloaded Kirby this afternoon. Its colourful and easy and I've enjoyd it so far. I will get SMB3 next payday though.
I also ran into a bit of a gotcha when I first fire it up - screen went black and the tv said the mode was not supported. Component cables were causing an issue and a press of Z, 2 and A sorted it all out. Think Nintendo should tell people about that when they buy an old game.

I decided to go along with Kirby too. Very good game. I owned the original Nes game back in my younger days
I was just wondering if anyone has the original and can tell me if it has a line on the left side of the screen or if it's just the Wii version?
Here's a screenshot with the line in blue. Seems emus have it too. It's not terrible but I don't remember it being there on the Nes.

Yeah I noticed that, and I dont think its there on every level either.
What do you think of Kirby then?

It's lots of fun to play. But I think it's too easy. I could probably finish it in one sitting if I take the time to play through it. I dl last night and played for a few minutes, finished the first level and made it half way through the second one. I think there's only 5.Curlypaul wrote:Yeah I noticed that, and I dont think its there on every level either.

Lots of NES do the blank strip on the side of the screen. It's a programming thing. They trimmed a sliver of the resolution for more processing, if I understand it correctly. It's normal. Game on.
