Oh, it was kinda funny, I can forgive that paragraph. I get more pissed with boring fanboyism.

I honestly didn't find the paragraph to be one of fanboyism, so much as just a really sarcastic way of telling the truth.

I've seen numerous reports saying that developers (especially Japanese) will make a game a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 because Microsoft will give them money to help fund the development of the game. Then, they port it to the PS3 as soon as they can, but with added features because of Sony's policy that a late port has to have additional exclusive content.

Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata - even Bioshock.

It's a smart move on the part of the developers, but I'm sure it feels more like a slap in the face to Xbox 360 owners and Microsoft themselves.

Personally I consider said turnabout to be fair play. Given the choice I buy all my games on PS3, so it annoys me to see what I thought were 360 exclusives to suddenly appear on the PS3 (and generally in better forms). I've held off on playing Tales of Vesperia since Bamco hasn't said one way or another that it's being localized (though rumor has it is is). And there's a good chance I'll play through Star Ocean 4 again, depending on what else comes in the PS3 version aside from no disc switching and Japanese voices.

True, but they should make certain games only on either system or most people would buy only one system or they could release the game with different features on each system so everybody wins. PC gaming is pretty good because of the map editor in some games and can be upgraded to the newest technology, but it doesn't give them the right to act like douches.
Systems: Sega Dreamcast(x2), Sega Genesis(x2), Sega Saturn, Sega CD, Genmobile (portable Genesis), FC Twin, PSX, PS2(x2), GBA, SP, Xbox 360, N64, Showcase Arcade

It seems like kind of a mean thing for Sony to require additional content for ports; whether a company wants it or not, they will make 360 owners feel betrayed. Nevertheless, like I said, I'm excited about this and will definitely buy the game on release day if it is localized, but I just think that the PS3 fanboys are getting way too many bragging rights for this.

If you don't see it, look through some of their other articles. It's blatant. there's a couple articles where they insult the 360 just for being a console made by an American company.

Well, the Japanese music industry has been doing this to imported music for a long time. Western music released there usually has extra tracks demanded by the Japanese record companies. AFAIK they do this so that people will buy the super expensive Japanese versions of albums instead of just importing the cheaper western versions. I imagine there's some crossover in the mentality there.

Oh, I'm quite aware of the Anti-MS bias from Artefact, I'm just saying that that particular comment isn't just shameless bashing. Evidence of using Microsoft's money to fund a PS3 game has been around for a good minute.

As for Sony requiring additional content, it only makes sense. Who would pay $60 for a product that has been around on another console for a year or two? Even though Sony makes it policy, I'm sure Microsoft and Nintendo would want the same thing. It also helps convince people who have already bought it to buy it again.

Truer words have never been spoken. I shall now have three versions of Persona 3 if Altus decides to localize.
