Games You Hate That Everyone Else Loves

I still have to understand why RPG's are system sellers. They take all your life to complete, they are very repetitive, there are a billion of them, they are very slow. They say the story element is what makes them play the game, but if the story what makes you play the game then why not read a book instead of deciding what is your next attack going to be?

The main problem with RPGs in my eyes is that they've all been focusing on "100 hours of gameplay!" and such non-sense. If this 100 hours was dedicated to good character development (Ya know, what RPG fans commonly refer to as 'story'), then that'd be great, but instead it's usually dedicated to bad character development (Ya know, what RPG fans commonly refer to as 'grinding').

Basically, the average RPG starts with five great hours that are heavy on the story, the character development and all that. Then it goes into about 95 hours of grinding, leveling and exploration with extremely minimal story progression and character development. Then it ends with a tacked-on and anti-climatic ending.

Fallout 3, You see one shit brown wasteland, you've seen it all. If you already played Oblivion, don't bother playing this.

Banjo-Kazooie, this one I am thinking of giving it a second chance, because when I first played it, the controls where horrible, I mean I hated the N64 controller with a passion, since I played the XBLA version of the game I am starting to like the game because I think the controls are better with the 360 controller.

Hate is a strong word, but I've never been fond of madden. I prefer games that don't play themselves.

But I've got to stick up for Halo. Say what you want about two and three, but Halo 1 is, in my opinion, the greatest console FPS ever made. The gameplay could not have been more spot on. The campaign is a whole lot of fun, and the multiplayer never gets old for me. I seriously think that Halo 1 is the apex of the console FPS, and nothing will ever top it.
