I said they wouldn't bring in ANOTHER (that is to say in addition to the motion plus) new piece of hardware especially if it DOESN'T ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING USEFUL, TRULY INNOVATE GAMEPLAY, OR WON'T SELL UNITS. That trash talk was about the Wii Vitality Sensor, not the motion plus.

I'm not seeing this going anywhere. Nintendo has had a huge string of hits with controllers and peripherals from the Wiimote itself to the board and now M+ but I think this one will only be used for very dedicated games. You can't bat .1000 all the time. I'm thinking this will be more in line with the Super Scope or the Mario Paint mouse. They could have one great app for it, but I don't see widespread use.

I'm betting there will be a Wii Zen game where you have to meditate to bring your heart rate down. There's something like that already for the PC that they sell at new-agey stores.

There will probably be a related fitness game as well, where your heart rate is measured to give you recommendations for your ideal calorie burning workout intensity, in relation to age and weight.

Also, you could potentially use this in a survival horror game to have things jump out at you only in the moments when your heart rate has gone down and you've actually started to think you can relax.

You could also have music that stays at the tempo of your heart beat and transitions style depending on its rate.

You could also use this for exercise gaming where your character lacks critical features until you workout hard enough to get your heart rate at a suitable level to unlock those features.

I have that. Sucked hard.

This has no real gameplay applications. Every game would be better not using it
