This has gone on too long. Duct, you need to throw in a minor anecdote about one of your buddies taking a shit in a museum and calling it modern art. I simply cannot comprehend this many well written and serious posts from you.

But as for the topic at hand, I think I prefer 2D art in my videogames because of what it encourages the artists to do. As mentioned, with 3D you generally have a push towards photorealism and just general realism. With 2D you have less of a burden to create "possible" works. And you also gain the ability to pull off optical illusions that you simply cannot create with a 3D space.
