You guys are just gonna have to keep calling out when you need me to speak up on a particular game.

Emulation is fine, as sanctioned by the OP. What I was getting at, was someone playing without savestates or rewind.

I'd love for you to join the challenge, but keep in mind all of your picks must be at least ten years old. I can help you come up with some challenging DS and Wii games that are that old. That means 2007 and back:

DS
Contra 4
Mega Man ZX Advent
Etrian Odyssey
Front Mission (the second campaign at least)
Dementium: The Ward
Metroid Prime: Hunters (for the control scheme if nothing else)
Yoshi's Island DS
Mega Man ZX
Scurge: Hive
MechAssault: Phantom War
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble!

Wii
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Metal Slug Anthology
Red Steel
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Trauma Center: New Blood
Kororinpa: Marble Mania
Dewy's Adventure
Heatseeker
Alien Syndrome
Escape from Bug Island
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Not sure what the guys opinions of them will be, but I think these are fairly tough:

Wii:
Sin & Punishment 2
Punch-Out (if you go through Title Defence mode)

DS:
Bangai-O Spirits (if you try to complete every stage)
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (maybe not hard enough? the later bosses are quite challenging though!)
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure

EDIT: Ah, didn't see the 10 year old requirement.

It's a retro themed challenge so:

I realize many people don't have old consoles / handhelds going now, so that's why emulation was sanctioned.

I'm going to have to do more research into this Ecco Genesis VS SEGA CD thing. I'm so damn torn now.

If you want the hardest, it's still the Mega Drive/Genesis version. The western one, I think the Japanese one is easier.

The checkpoints will make stages easier, but as mentioned the hardest part of the game has none. The second hardest level will be quite a bit easier though, as it's also the longest one so the checkpoints will mean less to replay perfectly if you die. And it does require perfection

The extra stages from my understanding, aren't that special anyway. I'm just saying that the game is still challenging and shouldn't be excluded if people suggest the Sega CD one as an option for themselves just because of the checkpoints.

Jumping Flash! - You know what? I want to hear more about this game, and you've said you're not the best at this kind of thing, so yes.

Shockman - No.

Somer Assault - Again, I want to know more. I'll say yes.

Marvel Land - The hardest thing about this game is looking at it, and the second hardest is listening to it. I say no.

You know what? I want to see this happen. Glad to see someone try to play a real game.

I think what I'll do is stick with the USA Genesis version. If I end up loving the game, I'll go back and play the SEGA CD version to experienced the differences. Thanks.
