Thanks! I got it for free on PSN, but I'd really like to play this on a portable and the Vita doesn't do PSOne games.
I played through the Final Fantasy Collection version some years ago. I loved customizing my party and thoroughly enjoyed the game. The difficulty - at least for me - ramped up significantly at the end of the game, and my battles against the optional bosses and the last boss were epic. I have played through a lot of RPGs, but I can still recall the strategy that I used to topple each of those monsters.) Accordingly, spend some time grinding and bring your "A" game when you head into the final dungeon.
(To respond to your question, however, the GBA port is superior to the PS1 port; so, if I were playing it again, that is the version that I would choose.)
On topic...I am about six hours into Final Fantasy III (NDS), and I am enjoying it so far. If you go back a few pages, you will see that I recently completed Dragon Warriror III; so, I am right at home with this no-frills, "old-school" JRPG.
