Okay, I'm going to update the OP!
Sarge wrote:Also, just out of curiosity, why no Battletoads in Battlemaniacs?

Because compared to the original Battletoads (NES) it's a piece of cake. And you've already shown you can beat Battletoads on NES fair and square. That means Battletoads in Battlemaniacs will be a joke for you.

did Ack ok C:TA? Thought Ex and I were split...

Also, am I right that Ack's vote on SWDF2:JK is not needed and that Ex/Sarge both said yes?

So my main challenge might be getting my oxbox to work. Hooked it up yesterday and it would not power up.

If I cant get it to work I will play Kings Field 1 - PSX

I've got my 3:

Bionic Commando (NES) - 3 yes - Approved by all 3 judges
Blaster Master (NES) - 2 yes - Approved by Exhuminator & Sarge (Dsheinem not weighed in yet)
Devil May Cry (PS3) - 2 yes - Approved by Exhuminator & Sarge, rejected by Dsheinem

The virtuous judge Exhuminator wrote:Ecco for GENESIS has been approved across the board (the Sega CD version has checkpoints, it's easier).

Saw this whilst perusing the thread. I will say that having beaten Ecco on the Mega Drive, the hardest sections of the game won't be helped much by checkpoints. The hardest level has none. Sega CD version of Ecco also has like 6 extra levels, so it has it's own additional challenge too.

I might have messed up? :? If we were split, sir Ack must make the final call.

I'm not going to question any judge's decisions. If I need to go back and fix this, I will. But I would like to say; if you've never actually beaten Castlevania: The Adventure on an actual Game Boy, I don't think you have the proper frame of reference for how challenging parts of its levels really are. That game made me want to crack my Game Boy in half more than once.

If 2 of 3 judges said yes, that means the 1 no vote is voided. Simple majority rule. The only time Ack's judging pulls rank, is if we end up with any stalemated situations. In that case he makes the final call.

Fantastic! I'll update the OP. Welcome to the challenge.

I did a little reading on this, apparently it includes redesigned levels as well as new levels. I have to wonder how the difficulty is affected. I mean, were the levels redesigned to be easier? The new levels sound like a great bonus, but I don't want to be playing levels that were watered down from the original. Can you confirm the situation here? Thanks.

I humbly suggest emulation on a different device. I'd hate for you to miss out on such a great game because of a flaky Xbox.

I'm interested in doing this and I'm looking through my Backlog for possibilities. Can anyone recommend Wii and DS games? I'd like one of my games to be released in the last 10 years.

It has infinite continues, right?

Are we required to use actual hardware...or is a GB emulator ok?

oxbox emulation is not at a point to be playable for more than a handful of low impact titles, let alone something like Steel Battalion.

I played some Line of Contact back in the day, with hopes of playing through the campaign in coop, but I never got everything together for it. And now an oxbox cost as much as a 360.

Yeah, Ack said yes.

I have legit copies, but I may emulate anyway. I have no problems with them being used.
