Nolan ramped up bale's batman voice in TDK and I'm not really sure why. It was better in begins, but either way it didn't bother me. Well, except the part where he used the batman voice while talking to lucius fox. . . what was the point of that? Kevin Conroy did a great job, but then he's a professional voice actor so he's better at controlling the subtleties of his voice. If you've seen terminator salvation, christian bale did a gravelly voice that would have worked better and you can hear him do a similar voice in the rises trailer. I think nolan's the one who pushed him to go further with it.

But if there was one place that the voice was 100% awesome, it was here

We should just shut up and not have our voice heard and be happy that these characters that have been established for 40 years are gonna be completely altered. I'm sure say Harry Potter fans wouldn't care at all if Harry Potter took place in the "real" world and fought more "realistic" villains and explained all his powers through modern science. They would love it!
Hollywood fucks plenty of stuff up. But so far I've yet to see a comic book movie that's bad solely because of changes they've made.

 Good point!

For the sake of argument, I suppose, we could consider how much you've got to train yourself mentally to be out there fighting crime and never drop the "character" of Batman. Like with method acting, as long as the costume is on, he mentally remains in character without thinking about it--hence the voice. That or the mask has a voice changer like I said before.

And yeah, somebody is bound to comment that Batman is the real personality and Bruce Wayne has become the facade. But in that case there's no reason to not talk like Batman when speaking to Lucius Fox anyway...

Really? You can't think of one even?

-Batman Forever
-Batman & Robin
-Catwoman
-Elektra
-Fantastic Four
-Hulk
-The Punisher (Dolph Lundren)
-Spider-Man 3
-Superman: Doomsday
-X-Men 3

I would have added Superman III & Superman IV, but those didn't really veer from the comics. They were just plain bad movies without having to change things from the comics.

Look back up and notice the word "solely". He means that in bad movies where stuff was changed from the source, other stuff besides the changes made them bad. Looking at your list, I'd say I agree with him. Joel Schumacher could have made every detail of every character's history and personality accurate to the source and it still wouldn't have saved Batman & Robin--his directing style is just not right for Batman. Hulk was bad even if you ignore Banner's backstory, and LOOOOoooooong before they throw in that crap about Absorbing Man.

liked Bale's Batman voice! It makes it more realistic that way.
Okay, let's pretend for a second that if one were to become a billionaire vigilante, disguising your voice in such an extreme manner would be advisable.

If I'm going to sit and watch a movie for 3 hours (and why the heck to they make these movies that long these days anyway?) and that movie's name is Batman, the guy playing Batman shouldn't use a Batman voice that is so grating and dumb that I am excited everytime Bruce Wayne is on the screen.
It could have been worse. We could have gotten more George Clooney.

The sad thing is, the Dolph Lundgren Punisher film really isn't a bad action film(comparatively for the 1980s) if you don't view it as a Punisher film...or an alternate reality version. The changes in it really weren't so bad, especially compared to "Let's kill Cyclops" and the like.

The fact that these films are bad because of changes or not is definitely debatable here.

But regardless, I again go back to my original point: We comic fans shouldn't complain about these things? I don't see why we should be happy with crap.

I think it's an issue of having a sane threshold. Obviously there can be changes that are stupid/bad, or there can be so many changes that the property is unrecognizable... but that doesn't mean we should automatically throw a fit about every single little change, for no other reason than that it's a change, does it? We should complain if it needlessly hurts the story, and try to just roll with it if there's a good reason behind it.

I don't mind Bale's Batman voice, even though it is pretty funny, but I honestly think his role in Terminator Salvation was one of his worst hands down. The dude was either whispering or yelling the entire movie. Didn't care for it in general anyways.

The movie had so many other problems that I didn't even notice that.
